This 1 Activity Made Me a Better Communicator Heres How If you were told you could do one thing to become a better communicator, would you do it? Moreover, is it even possible for one action to make you better at anything? I am here to tell you it is possible. The one thing that will make you become a better communicator is live streaming. Yes, you read that correctly. Using social media makes you a better communicator. I am living proof. Lets discuss why this is the case.1. Like in most things, practice is a must for developing great communication skills.Do you think youre a good communicator? When you think about it, what makes someone a good communicator? Being a good communicator involves doing the followingKnowing and speaking to your audience,Mastering the art of storytelling,Engaging your audience in a meaningful way,Being relatable,Learning how to read the room (and adjusting when necessary),And enjoying the process of connecting with others.This list may seem a bit daunting , but dont fret. The more frequently you get in front of your audience, the easier it is to express yourself especially in an on-the-spot setting. Thats why live streaming is so great for working on your skills it can be done at any time and it requires you to be truly tuned to your audience and what youre saying.2. Live streaming will help you learn how to engage an audience.I personally loved Facebook when it was originally a platform just for college students. Who knew the platform would grow and evolve into what it is today? Whether you are doing a live video on Facebook, Instagram, Periscope or LinkedIn, you can have a conversation with people all over the world. People can tune in to hear what you have to say, and they can chime in with their thoughts and opinions. Whether they agree or disagree with you, the conversation will surprise you. This is a very good thing. Learning how to speak with people from different walks of life is not something you can learn unless you do it and live streaming gives you the opportunity to learn, fast.3. Its an easy way to get out of your head and just do it.Human beings can be their own no. 1 advocate or their worst enemy. If you want to become a better communicator, you must first believe it is a possibility and be willing to take risks. The stories we tell ourselves becomes the reality we experience. Live streaming lets you tackle misconceptions you have about your communication skills by pushing yourself into the spotlight and telling yourself you can do it.
